It is important to protect your language because you want to keep it in your generations for as long as it is possible. You want the next of peoples in your families to remember and be able to understand the cultural meanings. It would also be a good idea to speak it on a daily basis just to get used to it yourself. Your culture will also keep our ancestors alive.
During our times at the camp , one of my main highlights was the leap of faith. The reason
for that being was because of the height of it , it was just above the trees and because of my
fear of heights I got rid of them. There was also when we had to build a chariot and carry the person
around. Surprisingly , the group that I was in was the only group that managed to make the chariot
and to get around the whole square. Another thing that I found enjoyable was when the water went
out and we got to watch the other class go back home early. That was something I found funny.
If there was one thing I could’ve done better was to actually give the leap of faith another go.
Something I found challenging was rock climbing, the reason being was because it was slippery
and I wasn’t wearing shoes that comfortably fitted me. I honestly regretted not being more blankets
because first of all , the windows were wide open. Second of all it was just freezing and third of all,
it kept on falling onto the floor.
To the year 9’s that are going next year , I would advise you to bring more blankets because it was
freezing cold. Another advice I am giving you would be to listen and get to the center at the times
you were given. Just to give you more time for your next activities. One last thing that you should
remember would be to participate and try and put 150% effort into all that you do.

During our mission , the things that we had faced was when the pirates came and destroyed our boat even more. The thing that makes this worse is that our boat was already unstable and very dangerous.
Honestly , with my group I disagree 100% because first of all , they do not know how to participate with each other , second of all none of them were committed and I would rather get eaten by sharks then get on that scary , unstable boat. My group and I would stick to one thing and then lead to another. We picked the boys to be leaders first , but then we realized that they were gonna get us killed sooner or later , we then decided that me and the other girl would be the leaders because we were both wise and open minded and we knew things that would help us survive. So coming to the conclusion , my group was very hectic and we would've DIED!
This week is Tongan Language Week. This Week I have enjoyed learning about another culture, Tonga has been so interesting to me because of their different types of foods, their clothes that they wear and their golden tooth. At Glen Taylor School, their are heaps of teachers and students that are proud to be Tongan but thank you to all those who made the food yesterday, Much Appriciated.
